Woven Finance Limited (Woven) is an online Payment Service Provider that facilitates the Electronic circulation of money to enhance the exchange of value between individuals and organizations on a timely and effective basis.

The aim of this privacy policy is to provide our customers with an explanation of how our organization uses the personal data we receive from our customers and related partners when you use or website, applications or subscribe to use any of our products and services. This Privacy Policy is our policy regarding the privacy of personal information we collect online in connection with our business services and you agree that we may use any information you provide in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

This privacy policy applies to the Woven website. In this Privacy Policy, “we”, “us” or “our” refers to Woven and its successors in title, agents and assigns, while “you”, “your” refers to you and/or any person who subscribes for, uses or authorizes the use of our Services.

Woven conducts business in a responsible and sustainable manner, maintaining the highest level of industry standards thereby ensuring the security of customer information collected, processed and stored based on business requirements.

This Privacy Policy is intended to govern the use of Woven’s services by users and identifies the purposes for which personal information is collected, used, processed, disclosed, retained and disposed of.

We state that we do not consider personal information to include information that has been made anonymous so that it does not identify a specific user.

 

3. THE PRIVACY POLICY

3.1. CONSENT

As a Customer of Woven, you accept this Privacy Policy when you sign up for, access, or use our products, services, content, features, technologies or functions offered on our website and all related sites and services (collectively referred to as “Woven Services”).

3.2. COLLECTING PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect your personal information otherwise known as Personally Identifiable Information (PII). They include Name, email address, phone number, contact address, limited financial information, location data, device data, etc. This information may be collected automatically, via third party sources or as provided by you.

3.3. AUTOMATIC INFORMATION

When you make use of our services, we or our authorized agent may collect information sent to us by your computer, mobile phone or other access device. This information includes but not limited to the following: 

  • Computer IP address;
  • Device ID or unique identifier;
  • Device type;
  • Location;
  • Computer connection and information;
  • Mobile network provider;
  • Anonymous information collected through cookies and web beacons.

3.4. HOW PERSONAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED

Customer personal information is collected electronically, manually and automatically when customers visit our website and register for use of any of our products and services. Information is collected electronically during exchanges between your system (computer, mobile device and other electronic means of communication) and our system.

 Customers may also provide us personal information stored with third parties such as social media networks (for example: Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, et cetera). This information is controlled by the site and authorizing us to have access to this information, grants Woven the right to store or use such information in accordance with our privacy policy.

 Woven also offers you the ability to connect with our Products and Services using a mobile device, either through a Mobile Application (app) or via a Mobile Optimized Website. The provisions of this Privacy Policy apply to all such mobile devices and access through such medium.

3.5. USE OF COLLECTED INFORMATION

Our collection of personal information provided (through visual, oral, electronic or by any other means) by our customers in connection with our Authorized products and services enables us to provide users with a secure, smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Furthermore, the information collected from our customers may be used to:

  • Provide Woven Services and customer support;
  • Process transactions and send notices about your transactions;
  • Verify your identity, including during account creation and password reset processes;
  • Resolve disputes, collect fees, and troubleshoot problems; manage risk, or to detect, prevent, and/or remediate fraud or other potentially prohibited or illegal activities;
  • Detect, prevent or remediate violations of policies or applicable user agreements;
  • Improve Services by customizing your user experience;
  • Measure the performance of the Woven Services and improve their content and layout;
  • Manage and protect our information technology infrastructure;
  • Provide targeted marketing and advertising, provide service update notices, and deliver promotional offers based on your communication preferences;
  • Contact you at any telephone number, by placing a voice call or through text (SMS) or email messaging;
  • Perform creditworthiness and solvency checks, and compare information for accuracy and verify it with third parties.

Furthermore, Woven may contact you via electronic means to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, or as otherwise necessary to service your account.

 Woven may also contact you to offer coupons, discounts and promotions, and inform you about other services.

 Finally, we may contact you as necessary to enforce our policies, applicable law, or any agreement we may have with you. When contacting you via phone, to reach you as efficiently as possible we may use, and you consent to receive, autodialled or pre-recorded calls and text messages. Where applicable and permitted by law, you may decline to receive certain communications.

3.6. PROTECTION AND STORAGE OF INFORMATION

Information obtained from our customers are protected utilizing encryption security standards to ensure the transmission of data to or from you by any means.

Customer information is processed and stored on our computers in Lagos, Nigeria and anywhere else where our facilities are located. We protect your information using physical, technical, and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration.

Some of the safeguards used by Woven are firewalls and data encryption, physical access controls to our data centers, and information access authorization controls. We have also taken additional measures by ensuring our system complies with industry information security standards.

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information from loss, misuse or alteration. All of our employees, agents and contractors who have access to personal information are required to protect the confidentiality of this information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy. You should recognize, however, that there is no such thing as “perfect security” on the internet and we cannot guarantee the security of your Information. We cannot be liable for any breach of our systems or interception of our transmission and we hereby fully disclaim, to the fullest extent provided under law, any liability associated with any claim relating to a breach of security, data or information.

3.7. SHARING CUSTOMER INFORMATION WITH OTHER USERS

When transacting with others, we may provide those parties with information to complete the transaction, such as your name, account ID, contact details, shipping and billing address, or other information needed to promote the reliability and security of the transaction. If a transaction is held, fails, or is later invalidated, we may also provide details of the unsuccessful transaction.

We provide other users sending you money upon entering your email or phone number, your registered name for the purpose of verifying the correct account they intend to send money to and validating the transaction.

To facilitate dispute resolution, we may provide a buyer with the seller’s address so that goods can be returned to the seller. The receiving party is not allowed to use this information for unrelated purposes, such as to directly market to you, unless you have agreed to it. Contacting users with unwanted or threatening messages is not authorized by Woven.

 We work with third parties, including merchants, to enable them to accept or send payments from or to Customers using Woven Services. In doing so, a third party may share information about customers with us, such as email address or mobile phone number, to inform such customer that a payment has been sent. We use this information to confirm that users are Woven customers and that Woven as a form of payment can be enabled, or to send customer notification of payment status. Also, we may oblige a request to validate that a customer transacts business with Woven.

 Woven will not disclose your credit/debit card number or bank account number to anyone you have paid or who has paid you using Woven’s Services, or with the third parties that offer or use Woven’s Services, except with your express permission or if we are required to do so to comply with credit/debit card rules, a subpoena, or other legal processes.

3.8. SHARING CUSTOMER INFORMATION WITH THIRD PARTY

Personal information obtained from Customers may be shared with:

  • Other financial institutions that we partner with to jointly create and offer a product, they may only use this information to market Woven related products unless the customer has given consent for other uses.
  • We may reveal your name and other personal data and other monetary data about you at the request of regulatory agency or in connection with an examination of us as an Organization. This information could be revealed to internal and external attorneys or auditors, and to others whom we are required to make such revelations.
  • Banking partners as required by credit/debit card association rules for inclusion on their list of terminated merchants.

Other unaffiliated third parties, for the following purposes:

  • Fraud Prevention and Risk Management: to help prevent fraud or assess and manage risk.
  • Customer Service: for customer service purposes, including to help service your accounts or resolve disputes.
  • Shipping: in connection with shipping and related services for purchases made using our Services.
  • Legal Compliance: to help them comply with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing verification requirements, as may be required by any relevant law.
  • Service Providers: to enable service providers under contract with us to support our business operations, such as fraud prevention, bill collection, marketing, customer service and technology services. Our contracts dictate that these service providers only use customer information in connection with the services they perform for us and not for their own benefit.

Other third parties with your consent or direction to do so.

  • Please note that these third parties may be in other countries where the laws on processing personal information may be less stringent than in our country of primary jurisprudence.
  • If customers open any of our products and services or related wallet account directly on a third-party website or via a third-party application, any information that are entered on such systems (and not directly on a Woven  website) will be shared with the owner of the third-party website or application. These sites are governed by their own privacy policies and customers are encouraged to review their privacy policies before providing them with personal information. Woven is not responsible for the content or information practices of such third parties.

3.9. CROSS BORDER TRANSFER OF CUSTOMER INFORMATION

We are committed to adequately protect all customer personal information regardless of where the data resides and to providing appropriate data protection measures for your personal information where such information is transferred across borders, including outside of Nigeria. Transfer of Information to Third Parties Upon a Sale or Change of Control. We retain the right to transfer or assign all information pursuant to a merger, purchase or other transaction relating to our Company, its affiliates and sponsors.

3.10. MARKETING

The personal information of our Customers is our greatest concern as such we shall not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We may combine your information with information we collect from other companies and use it to improve and personalize Woven’s Services, content, and advertising.

3.11. COOKIES AND OTHER SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

We may place small data files on your computer or devices when you access our websites or use any of our services. These data files may be cookies, pixel tags, “Flash cookies”, or other local storage provided by your browser or associated applications (collectively referred to as “Cookies”). These technologies are used to recognize users as customers; customize our services, content, and advertising; measure promotional effectiveness; help ensure that account security is not compromised; mitigate risk and prevent fraud; and to promote trust and safety across Woven Services and related sites.

You are at liberty to decline our Cookies if the web browser or browser add-on permits unless our Cookies are required to prevent fraud or ensure the security of websites we control; However, declining our Cookies may interfere with users’ use of our websites and services.

3.12. PRIVACY POLICIES OF OTHER WEBSITES

This privacy policy applies to only Woven and not any other brands, though mentioned on our Websites. Neither does it apply to our Merchants, Vendors, or other related partners.

3.13. CUSTOMER CONSENT

Please refer to the end of this notice for providing your consent. Your consent to personal data collection and processing may be revoked by notifying us via our contact page. For users below the age of 16, the consent should be provided by the holder of parental responsibility of the child.

4. CHANGES IN OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We review our privacy policy periodically and when there is any substantial change to business or regulatory requirements. At the minimum, we shall review this annually and communicate via our communication channels such as Newsletter, on Website, Social Media Accounts.
